Tim Barton’s practice was established in 1985 after a period of employment by Warren & Mahoney, Architects of Christchurch.

Tim Barton is the sole proprietor of an architectural firm based in Blenheim since 1991.

Tim Barton Architect Ltd employs two other persons, both qualified architectural technicians. The office is familiar with the building industry and Territorial Authority regulatory conditions in Marlborough.

Tim Barton served as Chair of the Nelson Marlborough Branch of the Institute of Architects 2003-6 and as a member of the NZIA Practice Task Group 2005-7.
